According to the study, the three main motives for tourists planning to visit Thailand are leisure — 30%, the ability to escape from stress and relax — 25% and outdoor activity — eighteen%. That is, most are looking for a stress-free vacation that provides an opportunity to relax, want to be outdoors and forget about the anxieties associated with the pandemic.
The study showed that, while in Thailand, tourists most often head to attractions that have made Thailand famous. The most popular types of outdoor activities — visiting the famous Thai massage, tasting Thai cuisine in cafes and restaurants, relaxing in resorts and getting to know Thai culture, for example, visiting Buddhist temples.
Thai's tourism industry is recovering after two years of inactivity. The number of guests is expected to increase over the next three years, reaching approximately 46.96 million by the end of 2024. This data was provided by the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA). The ongoing easing of entry requirements should encourage tourists to return to Thailand as soon as possible.
