Aviation Safety Agency named the best airlines in the world in 2022

After several months a total shutdown of flights due to the pandemic, travel is coming back to life. True, so far, many global airlines and airports are mainly struggling with cancellations and flight delays.

In the midst of this season of “chaos” AirlineRatings.com, the Australian aviation safety and market assessment agency, has published its latest annual review of the best airlines in the world.

For the second year in a row, Qatar Airways was at the top of the ranking. One of the decisive advantages was that the Qatari practically did not stop flights during the pandemic and were the only major carriers to make huge profits, not losses.  The airline also received an award for excellence in long-haul transportation in the Middle East and Africa.

The rankings were also based on the age of each airline's fleet, environmental and safety performance, passenger feedback and product offerings.

Qatar Airways is followed by Air New Zealand— an airline that topped the list six times in recent years and came in second last year. In 2022, Air New Zealand is also recognized as the carrier with the best premium economy and economy class cabin and the best long-haul flight in the Pacific region.

Number three in the — Etihad Airways. The UAE-based airline was also awarded the Green Airline of the Year award. thanks to the implementation of the concept of reducing emissions.

Airline number four — Korean Air, which also won Cargo Airline of the Year awards. and Asia's Best Long Haul Carrier.

Singapore Airlines, Best First Class winner and “Best Airport Lounges”, rounding out the top five.

Low-cost airlines were not included in the ranking, but the world's best low-cost airlines, however, were named in alphabetical order: Allegiant Air, AirAsia, easyjet , Jetstar, Flair, Fly Dubai, Ryanair, Scoot, Southwest and VietJet Air.
