Spain is the only country in Europe with restrictions on tourists

Spain is the only country in Europe that still has travel restrictions

Despite the improvement in the COVID-19 situation and high vaccination rates, Spain still requires all travelers from third countries to present a vaccination certificate, a certificate of recovery or a test result upon arrival.

The requirement to present one of the aforementioned certificates applies to all arrivals from third countries who are at least 12 years old.

Spanish authorities explain that tourists must ensure that their documents are valid in order to be allowed to enter the country. A vaccination certificate is considered valid if the traveler has had a primary vaccination within the last 270 days or a booster.

Foreigners who have not been vaccinated can also enter Spain if they present a certificate of recovery from the last six months or test results. Spain accepts rapid antigen tests taken within 24 hours of arrival and PCR tests up to 72 hours fresh.

These entry rules will be valid until 15 November — such information came from the Spanish Ministry of Health. It also states that third-country nationals no longer need to fill out a medical control form or present a QR code.

“From Tuesday, September 20, 2022, the Spain Travel Health (SpTH) portal as an Internet site , and the mobile app are no longer functional. Therefore, from this date there is no need to fill out a medical control form to travel to Spain or present a QR code when crossing the border, — said in a statement from the Ministry of Health. It is enough to provide a document confirming vaccination, recovery or testing.

Over the past seven days, 19,067 new cases of coronavirus infection have been registered in Spain.
