Sharjah Airport in UAE shows record performance in 2022

In the first quarter of 2022 through the airport More than three million passengers passed through Sharjah, up 119.2 percent from 1.3 million passengers in the same period last year. The intensity of departures and arrivals of aircraft from different countries over the same period also increased — up 89 percent to 21,336 flights operated, up from 11,279 flights last year. 

H.E. Ali Salim Al Midfa, head of Sharjah International Airport, said: “The easing of restrictions on international travel, and the gradual recovery from COVID-19 has allowed airlines to resume their previously suspended flights, leading to faster growth. At the same time, Sharjah Airport strives to provide the highest level of security for customers, which makes travel to and from Sharjah city hassle-free and comfortable. We want to be among the top five air harbors in the region.

Recall that Sharjah Airport recently received the award “Best Airport in the Middle East” in the category from 5 to 15 million passengers per year, and also entered the list of the best in the nomination “Voice of the Client”; Airports Council International (ACI) for customer focus and consistently high quality of service.
