SalamAir CEO Mohammed Ahmed confirmed the carrier's contact with Embraer: “The E195-E2 will be a major part of our air travel portfolio. We will be the first airline in the Middle East to fly the E195-E2. Embraer aircraft offer the best in environmental efficiency, performance and passenger comfort. The aircraft's complex aerodynamics, new wing design and new technologies make it exceptionally energy efficient. These aircraft will allow the airline to open new local and regional cities and increase the frequency of flights to these destinations due to their fuel efficiency and capacity to meet the needs of these markets. Initially, the new fleet will be used on domestic flights, including 4 oil fields and 4 international airports in Oman, as we receive more aircraft, we will be able to use them at regional airports in neighboring countries that are not connected to Oman today.
