For the new Club Med Kiroro, two existing facilities will be combined . Thus, an integrated snow resort will appear with two unique buildings located only 3 minutes from each other and organically integrated into the Kiroro ski area.
By the way, Kiroro was recently named the Best Ski Resort in Japan by the World Ski Awards 2021. The rebranding and redesign of the resort at Club Med promises a luxurious mountain holiday with signature programs for families, millennials and other generations of avid skiers from around the world.
The first hotel — Club Med Kiroro Peak — will open in December this year, and Club Med Kiroro Grand will start operating in 2023. With both buildings open, Club Med Kiroro's capacity will be around 400. Guests will be able to book a room at Club Med Kiroro Peak starting August 1, 2022.
This is not the first Club Med facility in Japan, three are already successfully operating: “trendy and stylish”; Club Med Tomamu and “jolly and noisy” Club Med Sahoro in Hokkaido and lively Club Med Kabira Ishigaki in Okinawa.
With the resort's accessibility, panoramic views, quality winter snow cover, and proximity to popular tourist destinations (the coastal city of Otaru), there are plenty of opportunities for year-round recreation. Club Med Kiroro allows guests to discover a different side of Hokkaido in the heart of unspoilt Kiroro.
The resort can be reached either by car from New Chitose Airport, a 90-minute drive, or by train to Otaru Station Chikko. 23 pistes of any level and untouched virgin snow await guests. From the top of the mountain, stunning views of Hokkaido open up.
In summer, the mountains come alive with lush greenery, and tourists can enjoy all kinds of outdoor activities: walking along mountain rivers, mini-golf, tennis, mountain biking. The region is home to many wineries and fruit orchards, ideal for a summer getaway.
