1. The Coconut Tree Hill
One of the most famous Instagram places was unknown until quite recently. The hill is located in Mirissa on the south coast of the island. Of course, the most spectacular photos are taken at sunset.

2. Lighthouse Dondra
The most famous lighthouse in Sri Lanka and one of the largest in Southeast Asia. The cape is washed by the Indian Ocean, and palm trees grow around, of course, this is another southern insta-location.

3. Jetavana Stupa
The tallest brick structure in the world is 120 meters. Jetavana is listed as a UNESCO site and must-see. Located in the ancient city of Anuradhapura.

4. Diyaluma Waterfall or “Bridal Veil”
The height of the waterfall reaches 220 meters. There is a natural pool at the edge of the waterfall where you can swim and take amazing photos. The best time to visit during the hot months is from June to August when the water level in the pool drops.

5. Mirissa

6. Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage
Every day at 10 am, elephants are brought to the river to bathe. The ticket costs ~$13. The box office is open from 8:00.

7. Dikwella

9. Demodar Loop

10. Yala National Park
