MSC World Europa, with a maximum capacity of 6,762 passengers and a displacement of 205,700 gross, is comparable in size to five Royal Caribbean — the largest cruise ships in the world. “Oases” only 20 000–30,000 tons more and can accommodate about the same number of tourists.
New ships from the world's biggest cruise brands are launched all the time, but few, including MSC World Europa, are actually ready compete with the Oasis class for the title of the largest cruise ship in the world. Recall that the first ship of the — Oasis of the Seas — debuted in 2009.
In March, the Oasis class made headlines again when the Wonder of the Seas, which currently holds the title of the world's largest cruise ship, entered the scene. There were few other contenders for size leadership in history: Mardi Gras Carnival with a capacity of 6,465 passengers and a displacement of 180 tons and sister ships of MSC Cruises: MSC Grandiosa and MSC Virtuosa. Each can accommodate up to 6,334 passengers with a displacement of 181,541 tons. This also includes several other recently built cruise ships, including the two ships Costa Cruises and Iona from P&O Cruises, similar in size to the MSC World Europa.
These huge liners look like giant floating cities that include cabins, restaurants, concert venues, shops, cinemas, nightclubs, swimming pools and water slides, kindergartens and medical facilities.
