Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced the start of construction on the new Grand Hyatt Cancún Beach Resort in Quintana Roo, Mexico. It is expected to open by the summer season of 2024.
The new hotel has a chic location — in the eastern part of the Yucatan Peninsula, with magnificent views of the Caribbean Sea and the nearby island of Mujeres. It offers 500 rooms, 28 of them have their own plunge pool, and 46 — luxury suites including one Presidential Suite. World-class chefs and iconic dishes will be presented in 11 restaurants of various concepts.
Six bars will open on site, including a lobby lounge bar, a pool bar and beach shack, an indoor and outdoor spa, a fitness center, three swimming pools and more than 1 500 square meters of state-of-the-art conference rooms for events of any size and kind. Additional services include a kids club, an activity center, a business center and retail stores.
The resort will be located in Puerto Cancun, a resort community that includes a full service marina, golf course, resorts, condominiums, single family homes, a state of the art fitness and leisure center, a protected nature reserve, and a mall offering open-air shopping in more than 220 shops, gourmet restaurants, art galleries and children's entertainment. Strategically positioned between downtown Cancun and Cancun's hotel zone, Puerto Cancun combines dynamic city life with resort and natural surroundings, positioning the new Grand Hyatt as an attraction for tourists and locals alike.
Grand Hyatt Cancún Beach Resort joins 18 existing Hyatt hotels in Cancun, including luxury all-inclusive resorts under the brands AMR Collection. In addition, the new hotel will be a milestone in the development of the Grand Hyatt brand in the Americas, along with Grand Hyatt Baha Mar, Grand Hyatt Bogotá, Grand Hyatt Nashville, Grand Hyatt at SFO and Grand Hyatt Vail — they were all opened in the last five years.
