flynas, a Saudi flag carrier and the leading low-cost airline in the Middle East, announced the launch of its first direct flights between Al-Ula — an ancient city located in an oasis in the northwest of Saudi Arabia, and the capital of Egypt, Cairo. Program start — from Thursday, October 6, 2022. 

flynas will link Al Ula and Cairo with two weekly direct flights on Saturdays and Thursdays from Al Ula International Airport to Cairo International Airport. 

Known for its historical, natural and geographical significance, and rich in archaeological treasures from the Nabataean, Roman and ancient Islamic civilizations, Al-Ula is a place that reveals 7,000 years of human history. City — a real open-air museum, here is the first UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Kingdom, Hegra — famous Nabataean settlement with 110 well-preserved tombs carved into sandstone rocks dating from the 1st century BC.

Being a vital city located along the famous incense trade routes running from southern Arabia north to Egypt and beyond, the oases of Al-Ula provided a much-needed respite for caravans of weary travelers, providing a welcoming place to rest, socialize and rejuvenate.

Now Al-Ula is being revived and is ready to receive tourists again. Here, impeccable service is combined with first-class hotels set amid breathtakingly beautiful desert landscapes.

In support of the Kingdom's plans to make Al-Ula a popular tourist destination worldwide, flynas recently announced the resumption of flights from Al-Ula to Riyadh, Dammam and Dubai with two weekly flights to each destination. Flynas became the first airline in history to launch international scheduled flights to Alulu from Dubai in November 2021. 

Flynas has over 35 aircraft in its fleet and flies to 70 domestic and international destinations. Since its founding in 2007, the company has carried more than 60 million passengers. 

Recently, flynas received the highest rating among 600 low-cost airlines worldwide in the Official APEX Airline Ranking.
