EasyJet has confirmed the guaranteed order for 56 aircraft of the A320neo family, subject to shareholder approval. This order is part of EasyJet's fleet renewal program to improve the efficiency, profitability and sustainability of the business. The agreement also includes a clause to increase the capacity of the 18 ordered A320neos to the larger A321neo model.
The new aircraft are significantly quieter than the previous generation — their noise level is half that of the older aircraft they will replace.
EasyJet currently operates a fleet of over 300 A320 family aircraft, including the A319, A320ceo, A320neo and A321neo, which makes its largest single-aisle Airbus operator in the world. EasyJet flies to more than 130 European airports in 31 countries, serving over 1,000 routes.
The A320neo family combines state-of-the-art technology, including next-generation engines and sharklets, which together deliver fuel savings of at least by 20 percent.
More than 8,100 orders for machines of the A320neo family have been made worldwide by more than 130 customers. “NEO” ahead of any other model of both the Airbus concern itself and Boeing.
