Dubai to build $5 billion Lunar Resort

Sales Tourism in the United Arab Emirates reached $5 billion in the first half of this year and is forecast to double this winter when neighboring Qatar hosts the World Cup.

Dubai invests in giant new resort , similar to the moon. According to Moon World Resorts Inc. — by a Canadian design firm, a $5 billion Moon skyscraper in the shape of an Earth satellite will appear in Dubai in two years. The structure is 224 meters high.

Moon Dubai is expected to boost the emirate's economy in sectors such as hospitality, entertainment, attractions, education, technology, environment and space tourism.

According to the official report of the WAM news agency, Dubai's tourism industry revenues exceeded 19 billion dirhams, or $5.2 billion, in the first 6 months of 2022. The total number of guests in hotels reached 12 million, an increase of 42 percent.

Due to a lack of accommodation in small Qatar, which will host the World Cup in November-December of this year,  Dubai, a recognized tourist direction, expects to receive a huge army of football fans from all over the world.

During the tournament, Dubai will offer daily shuttle flights to and from Qatar, allowing fans to live in the UAE and attend the games. Dubai Airport — The world's largest international travel hub served 27.8 million passengers in the first half of the year, more than 160 percent more than in the same period in 2021.
