Demand for tourism products has increased by 1000 percent in Russia

Thus, the volume of orders for hiking backpacks and bags increased by 1,000 percent. Sales of tourist furniture — by 1,278 percent. Fishing lures and baits before the summer season have become more popular at 907, and fishing accessories — by 690 percent. Demand for sleeping bags and tents exceeded last year by 639 percent, and water transport in all its manifestations added 567.

As for the average check, it is quite “normal”, unlike expectations: depending on the category, its amount ranges from 2,200 to 6,400 rubles.

In the top of the most popular products, judging by the growth in sales, — burners, heating pads, lighters and camping lamps, tourist lights, dishes and thermoses, echo sounders and cameras for fishing.

Experts also note the increased activity of regional clients — purchases on the marketplace, along with Muscovites and residents of the Moscow region, are increasingly being made by users from St. Petersburg, the Sverdlovsk region and the Krasnodar Territory.

SberMegaMarket analysts attribute this positive trend to the growing popularity of domestic tourism amid restrictions on travel abroad, and also with the beginning of the opening of the fishing season.

And here is the demand for traditional attributes of the holiday season — sunglasses, sunscreen and suitcases — now less pronounced. Orders for such goods, compared with a year earlier, increased by “only” by 63, 262 and 837 percent respectively.

According to YuKassa — service of YouMoney, from March 1 to May 15, 2022, the turnover of fishing and hunting online stores doubled with an indicator of plus 107 percent, and the number of purchases increased by 175 percent compared to the same period in 2021. The average check at the same time decreased by a quarter — up to 16,209 rubles.

The number of buyers themselves has increased by 115 percent.
