As part of the “Hello Hong Kong” campaign The Hong Kong Tourism Board is offering free flights to travelers from all over the world. They can already be ordered through the official website of Cathay Pacific, starting at 19:00. Economy class tickets are free to and fro, but passengers will have to pay their own airport fees and taxes.
“Tourists from all over the world can now fully enjoy Hong Kong's many experiences,” said Pang Yu-Kai, chairman of the city's Tourism Board. “This is not only a signal for a full return to normality in Hong Kong, but also a push for the revival of our tourism industry.”
To get a free ticket, you must first register for the Cathay loyalty program, and then go to the promo airline website page to receive a promo code for booking.
Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis and there is a limit of one ticket per transaction. The lucky ones who purchase a free ticket must travel within nine months from the date of purchase and stay in the country for a minimum of two days and a maximum of one month.
Travelers will have to pay for rebooking to other dates at the rates of the airline or for no show, in addition, tickets are not exchangeable.
The airline warns that “booking is guaranteed only after payment of fees and taxes.
According to the tourism board, on As of today, Hong Kong does not have any travel restrictions, including canceled COVID-19 testing and quarantine. Wearing masks is also optional.
