The international hotel chain Brown Hotels, founded in 2010 by hoteliers Leon Avigad and Nitzan Perry, has announced an official partnership with Israir Airlines. The partnership involves an investment of around $40 million by Brown Hotels and Israir to jointly purchase and co-own property in Greece, as well as launching new tour packages that combine hotel stays and air tickets at attractive prices.
Through the new partnership, Brown Hotels will provide unique holiday packages in Greece, with direct flights from Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion International Airport to Athens International Airport through Israir Airlines and accommodation at the new collection of Brown Hotel hotels in Greece.
Israir will also have the exclusive right to sell stays and rooms at Brown Hotels hotels.
The hotels are located in strategically important tourist locations throughout Greece and feature the modern design of the Brown Hotels brand.
The current partnership — the first case of cooperation between Israir and a hotel brand in the field of real estate investment. The joint investment will include the purchase, renovation, improvement, operation and marketing of properties managed by Brown Hotels.
The first property to open as part of the partnership is Brown's new hotel in Chania, Crete, one of the most desirable and sought-after destinations in the Mediterranean. A hotel aptly named Isla Brown Chania, will open in late 2022 under the Brown Hotels Resorts brand. It will feature 175 rooms, private pools, seafront restaurants, a heliport, an infinity pool and more.
Brown Hotels and Israir will also open several new hotels on mainland Greece, including:
Brown Museum — A classic boutique hotel with 93 rooms located next to the Archaeological Museum of Athens, combining historical sculpture and artistic motifs, as well as a well-equipped conference complex.
Hotel Brown Cubic with 112 rooms is located in the center of Athens, next to the Greek National Theatre. It features a spa, fitness center and event rooms.
Mae Athens, a former residential building to be converted into a 56-room Brown Hotel.

Another resort that the companies have acquired and will open in mid-June 2022 is Brown Beach Eretria, located on the island of Avia, the second largest island in Greece, just an hour from Athens. Brown Beach Eretria features 180 rooms, suites and family-friendly facilities on the Mediterranean coast.
The news of the merger follows the opening of several new Brown Hotels in Greece in Q1 and Q2 2022, in including Dave RED Athens, The Lighthouse Athens, Brown Acropol and Isla Brown Corinthia, as well as other new properties in Crete, Evia and mainland Greece to open throughout 2022.
